Techniques to Boost your Time Management Skills.


Be clear about Goals:

A goal is a desired result that a person plans to achieve. Because setting goals gives you direction, long term vision and helps you organize your time. 

How to set your Goals: 

Identify what is the purpose of doing a task and plan how to perform it.
Divide the problem into smaller chunks.
Finally, start working on it.


Schedule your time:

Scheduling helps you manage your time efficiently, effectively and productively.

How to schedule your time:

Use calendar to schedule your appointments, meeting and other responsibilities.
Use to do list to note down all your tasks and prioritize them according to their need.
Use priority matrix to help you organize your task easily.


Monitor how you spend your time:

Note down at what time you started a task/work and at what time you finished it. Record how much time you are spending on each activity for a week/month. And then determine which of those activities were useful and which ones were wastes of time.

Avoid multitasking:

Because Multitasking leads to 40% drop in productivity and increased stress. When we shift between different tasks/jobs we make more errors. We experience difficulty in making decisions and we become less creative.

Force your brain to focus on one task at a time.
Avoid distractions.
Write down all the tasks and prioritize them.
Optimize your work environment (keep your workplace clear).

Exercise regularly, because it will helps your brain stay alert, focused, improves your mood, boosts energy and promotes better sleep.


Eat healthily:

Take small bites of meal compared to large one, because it will helps keep your brain alert, and drink more water to hydrate your body and keep your brain happy.


Block other distractions:

Here are some suggestions that may help you to block distractions:

Distance yourself from those activities that may distract you, like surfing the net, watch TV serials etc.
Find a quieter place like Library or any other place where you feel comfortable.
Eliminate all noises, like; listening to Music or watching TV.
Tell your parents, siblings and friends not to disturb while you are working.
Unplug or switch off the appliances that might cause distractions like: TV, Cellular phones etc.
